The world’s leading online learning platform, Coursera has announced free versions of the application for the campus. It has also upgraded features to address the long-term needs of higher education worldwide.

These new features will allow universities to deliver academic integrity for online learning, improve student employability, and also author private courses.

With three offerings, ‘Coursera for Campus’ goal is to support students and institutions in online learning:

  • The Basic Plan provides up to 20,000 free students licenses to every university. Every license includes access to unlimited guided projects and a course annually. It also has basic plagiarism-detecting features and access to the online help center.
  • The Student Plan gives every university student free access to unlimited guided projects for hands-on learning, with one course yearly. Students can gain job-relevant skills at their own pace. They will have access to an online help center as well.
  • The Institution Plan provides unlimited guided projects and unlimited course enrollments for each student’s license. It will also enable universities to author, grade, and manage for-credit online learning programs with academic integrity.

The upgraded features of ‘Coursera for Campus’ allow universities to deliver online credit-bearing learning with advanced academic integrity features.

Coursera – the world’s leading online educational platform

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and colleges were forced to shut down for months, but as the trend shifted to online education, students didn’t lag behind on their studies.

Students had a lot of time to enroll in online courses that were being offered for free on various educational platforms during the quarantine. With platforms like ‘Coursera‘ introducing free versions with upgraded features, numerous global universities, including a few from Pakistan, joined in to offer free of cost courses.

According to the available statistics, Pakistani universities served over 68,000 students, who enrolled in 588,000 courses from different countries during the recent months. The educational institutions, including Riphah International University, University of Education Lahore, and Lahore College of Women University, used ‘Coursera for Campus’ to help in learning, and provide supplemental content to their degree programs to prepare students for internships and jobs.

The online platform offers offline learning so students can easily download courses, synchronize quizzes and progress, take notes with highlights and calendar sync.

Coursera also has engagement tools to maximize learning efficiencies, such as guided projects for hands-on learning, in-browser programming assignments, and bite-size videos.
