Crackdown Against Shops Selling Masks At A Higher Price Begins, One Pharmacist Arrested

Following the coronavirus scare that seems to have spread around the country, a crackdown has been launched in the federal capital against shopkeepers selling surgical masks at a high price in the country.
The crackdown has been initiated under Section 144. One man was arrested after a medical store in A-11 was raided, the name of the shop owner was Shiraz. He was caught selling a Rs. 5 mask for Rs. 120.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Omer Randhawa led the raids, which were conducted in numerous medical stores of Islamabad. The store owners were told to keep N-95 masks in stock for protection against coronavirus.
Omer said that making a profit by selling the masks at a higher price will be dealt with strictly.
However, there were many big medical stores that distributed masks free of cost in some areas as a preventive measure.
