Cricket Australia to send full strength squad to Pakistan [Video]
According to the report, none of the Aussie cricketers have so far indicated they want to opt out of touring Pakistan.
Cricket Australia might send their full strength test squad to Pakistan, according to recent report by Sydney Morning Herald. The publication reported that Cricket Australia and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are mulling over playing all three Tests at one venue.
Although, some players are still not sure about visiting Pakistan but positive reports about the recent West Indies tour might change their minds.
On the other hand, Australia pacer Mitchell Starc hasn’t registered himself for the mega auction ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. This hints at the pacer considering to be part of Pakistan tour.
Furthermore, cricket.com.au also reported: Australia set to take full strength squad to Pakistan. According to the report, none of the Aussie cricketers have so far indicated they want to opt out of touring Pakistan.
National selector George Bailey termed the security arrangements “very, very robust and very, very thorough” after getting a number of briefings.
“I believe the boards are still working through some of the minor details around that tour, so once that gets the formal tick of approval then we’ll announce the squad post that, but we’re reasonably well down the track,” Bailey told reporters today.
PCB rejects Sydney Morning Herald report
The PCB has rejected the news about staging all the tests at a single venue. The cricket board clarified that all the matches will be played as per schedule as its not possible to organise 19 days of international cricket at one ground.
“The matches will be played in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore and the PCB is making necessary arrangements to ensure a safe and secure environment for the series.”
