Pakistan made history last night against Australia as they achieved the highest successful run chase in One Day International (ODI) cricket. Previously, Pakistan’s highest successful run chase was against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup.

Batting first, Australia put a total of 348 runs on the board. Ben McDermott and Travis Head remained the highest run scorers with 104 and 89 respectively.

Shaheen Afridi picked three wickets in his 10 overs while, Mohammad Wasim also got two. In response, Pakistan got off to a good start as the opening pair added 118 runs for the first wicket.

Fakhar Zaman departed for 67 runs. After Fakhar’s wicket, Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq combined for another hundred runs partnership. The two players scored magnificent centuries to help Pakistan chase the target with an over remaining.
