Cricket fans & Wasim Akram slam Ramiz Raja for substandard pitches

Despite all the excitement for the historic Australia tour of Pakistan, cricket fans are hugely disappointed with the pitches made for the series.

After a draw in the Rawalpindi test, fans expected something better when the action moved to Karachi. However, the National Stadium’s pitch doesn’t seem to be any better.

After winning the toss, Australia decided to bat first and batted comfortably for nearly 200 overs. The Aussies decided to declare their innings at 556/9. The crowd at the National Stadium Karachi hasn’t been as impressive as Pindi, probably due to the hot weather and the boring cricket.

The pitch is once again under criticism for offering nothing to the bowlers. According to some reports, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the commentary panel not to discuss the pitch.

Former cricketer and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram said that he knew the second test match will be a draw as well just after watching the second ball. He added that he tried to watch the two test matches but he couldn’t, calling the cricket boring. Wasim Akram hoped that whoever is preparing these pitches will learn from it.

“If you want to make slow pitches at least make it a turner so that we get a result-oriented match,” the former captain said.

It is pertinent to mention that the International Cricket Council (ICC) declared the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium pitch “below average” and penalized it with one demerit point.

Just like Wasim Akram, cricketer fans aren’t too happy either. A cricket fan slammed the chairman PCB for taking credit of all the hard work done by Wasim Khan.
