Dale Philip called out for gloating over arrest of horsemen who tried to scam him

Dale Philip, the Scottish travel vlogger, is being called out for using his white privilege. Twitter slammed the YouTuber about getting back at a poor horseman.

Previously, a view of his went viral in which a horseman tried to scam him. Philip was visiting Karachi Seaview when a vendor charged him extra as he was a foreigner. According to Dale, the horseman asked him to pay Rs.5,000 instead of Rs.200 for a ride.

Dale Philip’s scamming incident

He created a vlog, talking about the entire experience. The vlogger said that it was very quiet, and as soon as he entered the beach, two people on horses came towards him. Philip negotiated a price of Rs.200 with one of them in return for a ride to the Chunky Monkey amusement park, but he did not take him there. Instead, he took him down to the water and handed him off to another guy on a horse.

“I felt like I was getting scammed in some way. Maybe they were going to ask for double the money because the second guy was taking me for a second ride or something,” He said. Philip went on to say that he confirmed the price with the horseman, who made it clear that Rs.200 was for one ride and he will have to pay for multiple rides.

Upon this, Dale asked him to stop and said he would walk the remaining distance, but he refused to do so. He did not stop the horse, and did a u-turn and dropped him off at where he started the ride. Although Dale screamed at him multiple times, the horseman replied that if he takes the horse back without a rider, the other two horsemen would fight. After getting off, the two scammers asked him for Rs.5,000.

“As if I was just going to give them 25 times the price that we had agreed. How stupid did they think I was,” the vlogger said.

The Police’s response

After the clip went viral on social media, Karachi Police arrested the three horsemen within three hours. A video of them was also shared on the Twitter page.

Dale Philip reacted to this by gloating about getting back at the vendor.

  • I think it’s unfair to blame Dale, if these people are scammers and he is exposing them then it is good, even if he is using ‘white privilege’ to get attention of the police.

Some of these people on beaches and tourists spots can be a real nuisance.

  • i was scammed in the same way by these so-called poor people. They even threat to attakc on me.

    • when you go to brand’s shopping there is no bargain, no price control.
salute to police and rich people for criticizing these poor people.
