Small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to transform into picnic spots
According to details, Jalozai Dam Nowshera, Chattri Dam Haripur, Kundar Dam in Swabi, Thand Dam Kohat, and Jhangra Dam Abbottabad are being built as picnic points.
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated to transform its five dams into picnic spots. The initiative has been taken to promote the tourism industry in the country.
According to details, Jalozai Dam Nowshera, Chattri Dam Haripur, Kundar Dam in Swabi, Thand Dam Kohat, and Jhangra Dam Abbottabad are being built as potential picnic points.
Restaurants, parking spaces, open cooking, solar system, fishing, and other facilities will be provided to tourists at the sites mentioned above.
On the 19th of August, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on the reviving tourism sector in the country. It was decided to constitute a committee and remove all violations from tourist spots.
While chairing the meeting, the Prime Minister had directed to form a committee under the chairmanship of his Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis, Syed Zulfi Bukhari, for boosting tourism in Pakistan.
The committee would brief the PM regarding the development progress of tourism after every 14 days.
