Defeating India, Pakistan secures place in West Asia Baseball final

Pakistan thrashed India 13-2 in the semifinal in Colombo.

In another significant achievement for Pakistan in the field of sports, Pakistan makes it to the final of 14th West Asia Baseball Cup Tournament 2019, defeating archrivals India. Green shirts will now face-off the defending champions Sri Lanka in finals of the tournament on 20th July 2019.

Pakistan played a magnificent game against India, clenching their well-deserved spot. The game remained fairly one-sided throughout. Pakistan was declared winners in the seventh inning because of 11 runs lead.  Pakistan secured 2 runs in the first innings of the match. Following that, in 6th innings scored, they scored 11 more runs.

In the 7th inning, India scored two runs but due to a massive difference of 11 runs, umpired declared Pakistan the winner.

Pakistani baseball stars:

Putting forth a brilliant game, Fazalur Rehman from Pakistan scored 3 runs. Players Faqir Hussain, M Abdullah, and Arsalan Jamshaid contributed 2 runs each. Ubaidullah, M Zakir, Asad Ali and Sumair Zawar scored 1 run each, contributing to Pakistan’s final victory.

Chairman PFB Shaukat Javed and President PFB Syed Fakhar Ali Shah have congratulated the players over brilliant game and victory against India in semifinals. Sri Lanka defeated Iran 9–2 in the first semi-final, making way to the final.

Two matches were scheduled for 19th July, Friday. First, between Nepal and Bangladesh for 5th position and second between India and Iran for the bronze medal. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday.
