Dilip Kumar's wife thanks Pakistan for converting his ancestral home into a 'historic building'

The veteran actress also shared her memories of their last visit to the house:

Pakistan\’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) \’s Provincial Government has decided to purchase legendary Bollywood actors Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar\’s ancestral homes. The government plans to conserve the historic buildings by restoring their decaying condition, to save them from demolition.

In response to the government\’s decision, Dilip Kumar\’s wife, Saira Banu, said:

I wish the provincial government success in its efforts and sincerely hope that the dream comes true this time. Mashallah.

Talking to a media outlet, Saira Banu further added:

My heart fills up with joy every time I receive the same news about the ancestral home of Yousuf Saheb in Peshawar in Northwest Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), which the provincial government has repeatedly been trying to turn into a monument for posterity. It has come up so many times in the past. I appreciate the tenacity with which the government is pursuing the mission of turning the house into a museum for the public to visit and feel the vintage charm of the place where Dilip Saheb grew up like any other bright boy of the province.

The veteran actress also shared her memories of their last visit to the house:

\’\’The house is of great sentimental value to my husband, and I have shared his pride and happiness during a visit to the property some years ago. He was so emotional when he saw the house where he spent his lovely childhood in the comfort and security of a large, refined family\’\’.

It should be noted that Dilip Kumar\’s ancestral home is over 100 years old. The residence is situated in the Qissa Khwani Bazar locality.
