Diljit Dosanjh provides proof of his ‘Indian citizenship’ in response to rumors
In response to these rumors, Dosanjh posted the income tax certificates of gratitude that the Ministry of Finance had given him.
Famous Indian singer and actor, Diljit Singh, has been under fire for partaking in and supporting the farmers’ protest in India. He has been protesting alongside farmers and requesting the authorities to pay heed to their concerns.
The singer-turned-actor also granted 1 crore Indian rupees to farmers. Following this, an investigation was launched into his finances by the income tax departments. Various social media users also alleged that he has been involved in income tax fraud and even doubted his citizenship.
In response to these rumors, Dosanjh posted the income tax certificates of gratitude that the Ministry of Finance had given him.
The certificate said, “We appreciate the taxpayer, in the ‘Platinum’ category, in recognition of the contribution towards building this great Nation.”

The singer also made requests to his followers to refrain from propagating and spreading hatred.

Prior to this, Dosanjh took part in a Twitter dispute with actress Kangana Ranaut regarding the farmers’ protest.
Recently, Ranaut has directed yet another attack at Dosanjh by sarcastically criticizing him for stirring up unrest back in his country, and then vacationing abroad.

Dosanjh also clapped back by claiming that farmers are capable of recognizing injustices and are not impressionable.
