Direct flights between Pakistan and Azerbaijan will start from next year, says Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Pakistan, Ali Alizada.

This initiative will help both countries to strengthen bilateral ties and economic relations. The Ambassador further said that the investors of their country are very keen to invest in the potential sectors of Pakistan.

The envoy expressed his views during a meeting with the business community. Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz, chaired the meeting.

To boost trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, the envoy and the business community agreed to make joint efforts.

The ambassador said,

“Azerbaijan gave much importance to cementing mutual trade, economic and cultural relations with Pakistan”.

He further added,

“Azerbaijan had supported Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue. He emphasized that the issue of Kashmir should be resolved according to the UN resolutions to give the people of Kashmir the right to self-determination”.

Investment Opportunities

Investment opportunities in various sectors were also discussed in the meeting. Moreover, further possibilities of cooperation, joint ventures, business, and contacts among people of both countries were also discussed during the meeting.

Pakistan also invited Azerbaijan’s business community to invest in various sectors like hydel power generation, oil and gas, LPG, mines, mineral, gemstones, agriculture, medicine, fruits, livestock, honey, and others.
