Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is creating a short film about a Pakistani family celebrating Eid. It will be a low-budget subscription video on demand.

The story revolves around Ameena, a young girl around eight or nine years old living with her parents and grandmother, wanting to celebrate Eid in America.

However, since Eid isn’t recognized as a national holiday in the US, Ameena knows she will have to go to school and her parents will work during the festival.

The young girl takes it upon herself to celebrate Eid and begins a petition in her school. When her older sister Zara comes to know about it, she becomes angry. This leads to a fight between the two siblings, as Zara wants to fit in with the other children in her new school and wants to adapt to western culture. The two have a fall out over the issue.

Disney is searching for a suitable cast, and there is no acting experience required. The agency is looking for people who are fluent in Urdu and fit the cast requirements fully.
