Double-decker bus service is being started next month in the twin cities to promote tourism.

The Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) will operate the buses from Allama Iqbal Park, Shamsabad and will take tourists to Constitution Avenue through Shakarparian.

Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser on Horticulture and Tourism Asif Mehmood, while talking to a news outlet, said that the government is launching double-decker buses in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to promote the culture of the Potohar region.

In the beginning, only one bus will be operated and local people can also benefit from this service as well. Capital Development Authority was contacted to provide a terminal at Faisal Mosque and no-objection certificate to run the buses.

Mr. Mehmood said that space will be provided by parks and Horticulture Authority at the Allama Iqbal Park on Double Road in Shamsabad for the terminal. TDCP will bear all the expenses.
