DPO Orders Policemen Across Jhelum To Treat Teachers as VIP On Checkpoints
”If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher” – A. P. J Abdul Kalam.
A nation’s success depends on a teacher and there is no other way we can show our gratitude towards their services except by giving them respect.
DPO (District Police Officer) Jhelum, Syed Hammad Abid, has taken a commendable step in this regard, which is being lauded by the entire country. He has ordered the policemen across the city to treat teachers as VIP on checking points and police stations.
The written notification, which was also shared by Information Minister Ch Fawad, reads that Islam has given utmost respect to students and has given them a sacred status. Hence, being followers of the religion and an element of a civilized, progressing nation, it is obligatory on each one of us to treat them the same way as well.
The order says that the policemen are now supposed to treat them with the utmost respect and act decently with them. The directives further include not making them wait when they come to police stations and address their grievances / register their complaints on the priority basis.
He further added that the policemen are supposed to go out of their way to accommodate teachers and show gratitude towards them in every encounter.
His unconventional yet dignified step was lauded by everyone, especially Informational Minister who shared the notification, captioning it as ”Commendable order by DPO #Jhelum”

Tashfeen Khan (@TashfeenKhanPML) January 3, 2019

By the way this attitude of police should be with every single pakistani… rather than just teachers.
