First Pakistani Startup has received an investment directly from the Bill & Gates Foundation for the development of Artificial Intelligence models for data collection.

By using recent advances in Artificial Intelligence, the startup is aiming to disrupt $75 Billion market research industry.

It has being called as the “uber” for field data collection. Using it, rather tha relying on expensive dedicated teams, SurveyAuto relies on the local community members with smartphones to report data.

An industry specialist said, “What Uber has done to taxi services, they are aiming to do the same to traditional market research companies like Neilsen and Gallup.”

Dr. Umar Saif, founder and CEO of SurveyAuto stated,

“SurveyAuto uses a crowd sourcing model and relies on machine learning to decide who reports data, where it is collected, and when and how often it is reported. This reduces cost and minimizes human errors.”

Real time monitoring using smartphones and accurate identification of survey targets and tracks can be done using SurveyAuto. It uses machine learning on satellite imagery and open street maps. The quality of collected data is automatically analyzed using speech and image analysis.

With the World Bank, Innovations in Poverty Action (IPA), ITA, UNESCO and other development organizations SurveyAuto is working on various global projects. In the series of these large-scale engagements for SurveyAuto this investment marks the latest.
