Dr. Zakir Naik yet again comes under fire, banned from public speeches all over Malaysia

India based Islamic preacher and founder of the Islamic Research Foundation Zakir Abdul Naik is confronted with the clampdown at the hands of Malaysian authorities for issuing the racist remarks. He said in a statement,  issued by the start of this month, that the Hindus in Malaysia get 100 times more rights than the Muslim minority in India and still they support the Prime Minister of India and not the Malaysian premier.

The preacher is already facing the charges of money laundering and hate speech in the country of his origin. The Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad had also shown resentment over the racist remarks by the Zakir Naik and commented that the government will consider annulling his permanent residential status if it is proven that he has committed criminal offenses.

Dr.Naik, after leaving India for his inflammatory speeches, has been living in Malaysia. But as of now, he has been barred from delivering public talks in all states of Malaysia by the police inciting the breach to the national security, Gulf News quoted Royal Malaysian Police corporate communications head senior Assistant Commander Datuk Asmawati Ahmed as saying.

Naik was yet again questioned by police for hours for issuing untoward and controversial statements. He was also seen leaving the police headquarters in a Toyota Innova, another news agency reported. The India based religious scholar has already banned by several Malaysian states from issuing public statements after his violent remarks.

Citing the gravity of the issue Dr. Zakir Naik made an apology and said that his remarks have been taken out of the context adding that he did not mean to hurt anyone’s sentiments, India Today reported.
