Love Cannot Wait for Covid-19 to End: Drive-thru wedding takes place in Brampton [PICTURES]
This was pretty cute!
Where there is a will, there is a way – we have all heard the phrase, but a couple in Brampton proved it. In times of lockdown and social distancing, Faraz and Malaika decided to go ahead with their wedding plans anyway.
The Brampton couple decided to have a drive-thru wedding so that everyone could attend safely, bearing in mind the complexities surrounding Covid-19. The unique marriage ceremony took place last weekend while observing public health requirements of social distancing.
Premier Doug Ford and the Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown attended the unique wedding.
According to the City News Toronto, the couple initially planned to celebrate their big day with 950 guests. However, their creative way to celebrate their lives’ biggest moment ensured that the party rolled up to them anyway (in cars).
The groom, Faraz Hussaini, said:
We had a much grander, much larger event planned. Though, I think it is going to be a fun story to tell our kids in the future. We will say to them that the world literally shut down before our wedding.
The bride, Malaika Pervez, said:
We thought about delaying our wedding or conducting the event in a secluded area. However, we decided to go on with it. We did not want to wait any longer, and I do not think anybody else should either. If you are ready, you should go ahead and get married. The crowd does not matter; it is what you want that matters.
Faraz and Malaika’s families found a way to continue with their marriage, regardless of the Coronavirus pandemic. They set a new trend for the world by introducing the concept of a drive-thru wedding.
Covid-19 could not stop the love story of these two. We congratulate Faraz and Malaika and wish the newlyweds the best of luck for their future.
