E-office project: PTI government to introduce 12 systems
The newly introduced system will provide a follow-up and tracking system, that will assure the implementation of all the decisions and procurements.
In a bid to digitize the governance process, the incumbent government has decided to introduce ’12 systems’ project. It is being done to effectively integrate modern technology into the operations of government departments.
The NITB (National Information Technology Board) has already started working on the purpose, and some of the projects have already entered their final phases to the conclusion.
According to a copy of “Minutes of Meeting”, and reported by The Express Tribune, the NITB is working to introduce a self-information management system. The system will help monitor the implementation of the cabinet’s decisions.
Follow up and tracking:
The newly introduced system will provide a follow-up and tracking system, that will assure the implementation of all the decisions and procurements. they will be electronically sent to cabinet members and secretaries of related ministries and divisions.
Further, it was informed that secretaries of the ministries and divisions will electronically transfer the information regarding the implementation of decisions made by the cabinet. The progress on the developments will also be uploaded there, making it in access to all the cabinet members.
”The dashboards of the information management system (IMS) would be available with the premier and cabinet division. The PM will be able to check on his discretion the status of the implementation of the cabinet’s decisions on a real-time basis and cabinet division will provide a summary of decisions on a real-time basis,” the media report read.
Further, The NITB is working on the implementation of following projects as well:
- e-commerce policy
- e-point security for the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA)
- government end procurement
- the under-price resource planning system
- Pakistan Intra-Communication System
- Silicon Valley offices
The board is also working to introduce a self-information management system, which will track down the source of fake news on social media and also play its role in combating money laundering.
