E-Rozgaar Centres To Be Opened In Public Sector Colleges Across Punjab
Punjab Information Technology Board, Higher Education Department and Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology & Tourism have signed an agreement under which 40 e-Rozgaar centres will be opened in public sector colleges across Punjab.
These centres will help skill students in different trades, like freelancing etc. Minister for IT & Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun said that at the moment, 33 centres were working in universities across Punjab.
Youth’s interest in freelancing:
According to a report revealed by the digital payment company Payoneer, most Pakistanis under the age of 35 (90%) are opting for freelancing which is more than the global average of 70%.
The report is based on a survey of more than 70,000 freelancers from 150 countries. According to the report, more than 75% of people are going freelance, full-time, due to income contentment.
Reasons for making it a full-time career:
- Greater job opportunity
- Wage equality
The most popular freelancing field in Pakistan is web and graphic designing. As far as advertising on social media is concerned, Pakistani freelancers are dependent on Facebook and LinkedIn.
According to data, 81 per cent of Pakistani freelancers prefer to work from home.
