List of all the educational institutes postponing exams due to COVID-19

Last month, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood, ordered to close all educational institutions amid the second wave of COVID-19.

The Minister stated that except for professional exams, all other tests have been postponed until the 15th of January 2021.

Following the government’s announcement, the Higher Education Commission announced a new Policy Guidance for the Higher Education Institutions. According to the latest notification, all examinations scheduled for December 2020 have been delayed. However, it excludes the MDCAT, entrance examinations, and recruitment examinations.

The University of Punjab (PU), the University of Health Sciences (UHS), the University of Sindh Jamshoro, the University of Karachi, the Allama Iqbal Open University, and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have officially postponed their exams.

The PU has delayed its BA/BSc examinations and the Associate Degree Part(I and II), and MA/MSc. Part I, while the Bahauddin Zakariya University has postponed all its tests.

The UHS announced on Twitter that “all undergraduate and postgraduate theory and practical examinations” scheduled from the 26th of November to the 24th of December have been delayed until further notice.

The University of Sindh Jamshoro has also postponed all its theory examinations until mid-January 2021.

The NUST Entry Test (NET) 2021 (Series-1) scheduled to start from the 28th of November has also been postponed.

Furthermore, the Punjab education boards have announced that they will not be conducting practical examinations for intermediate and matriculation classes this year.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Department and the Higher Education Department of KP have also announced that all their examinations scheduled for December will be postponed until further notice.

Similarly, the annual examinations for classes one to eight in Balochistan have been postponed to the 10th of March 2021.
