8 Pakistani Cricketers Picked For The Inaugural Season Of Lanka Premier League (LPL)

During 15 days of the tournament, 23 matches will be played between five teams.

Eight Pakistani cricket players have been selected to play in the inaugural season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The list includes:

  1. Sarfaraz Ahmed
  2. Usman Khan Shinwari
  3. Asif Ali
  4. Azam Khan
  5.  Shahid Afridi
  6. Mohammad Amir
  7. Shoaib Malik
  8. and Wahab Riaz.

The Lanka Premier League (LPL)

The tournament was scheduled to kick-off in the month of August, but because of the COVID-19 outbreak, it was rescheduled twice. However, now, it is set to start on the 21st of November 2020.

During 15 days of the tournament, 23 matches will be played between five teams.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Azam Khan, and Shahid Afridi will compete from Galle Gladiator’s side, who also brought in Wasim Akram as their mentor. Galle Gladiators is owned by Pakistani businessman Nadeem Omar.

Mr. Omar also owns the PSL franchise Quetta Gladiators.

On the other hand, Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik, and Usman Shinwari will play for Jaffna Stallions, while Wahab Riaz was picked by Kandy Tuskers.
