How ‘ePay Punjab’ collected over Rs.500 million taxes in the first 100 days of its launch

The mobile application launched by the Punjab government for digital tax payment has turned out to be a huge success. Going by the name of ‘ePay Punjab,’ the application collected over Rs.500 million taxes in the first hundred days of its launch.

The app brings five government departments onto one platform and provides the facility of paying 13 different types of taxes with a single click. It simplifies the process of running a business by providing digital payment solutions and allowing the citizens of Punjab to pay taxes from any location without any complicated process.

The application was initially launched to improve revenue collection through easy payment collection. It was developed jointly by the Punjab Finance Department and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

People can pay their taxes through three different payment channels by using this application. These three channels are Internet/Mobile Banking, Over the Counter (OTC) banking transaction and ATM.

‘ePay Punjab’ was officially launched on the 4th of October 2019 and has proven to be quite useful since then. It allows citizens to generate a 17-digit PSID number that can be used to pay taxes through Internet/Mobile Banking, ATM, or by visiting any bank.
