Facebook Looking Forward To Launch Operations In Pakistan, Office To Be In KPK
Bangash added that they are in discussions with Facebook about monetizing their platform in Pakistan.
Facebook has proposed to initiate several projects in Pakistan, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) offering the social media platform to open its first Pakistan office in the province.

The Advisor to the KPK Chief Minister (CM) on Science and Technology & Information Technology, Zia Ullah Khan Bangash, held a meeting with Facebook’s representative Sehar Tariq in this regard.

Bangash said that KPK had offered full support to the social media platform under the chief minister’s vision.
He mentioned that during the meeting, the authorities had promised Facebook to review the law creating problems for Facebook and other social networking sites.
“We should support platforms such as Google, YouTube, Facebook as a majority of our youth is connected to them,” he added.

Bangash added that they are in discussions with Facebook about monetizing their platform in Pakistan.
According to Facebook administrators, more than 50 million Pakistanis use social networking site.
Moreover, Bangash informed that Asad Qaiser, the Speaker of the National Assembly, will consult with Facebook officials next week, along with officials from the Ministry of Information Technology.

“I’m confident the issues regarding legislation will be resolved by Asad Qaiser and his team, which will be beneficial for the platform,” he said.
“People have been approaching us for investment, and we want them to come to KPK, earn some money and also have the province earn from that,” Bangash expressed.
