Fake News : Punjab Govt۔ Didn’t Ban TikTokers And YouTubers From Entering Parks

A Geo news report claimed that YouTubers and TikTokers will not be allowed to make videos at the parks.

Tiktoker entry ban ParkFollowing backlash on social media, the Punjab government has denied the news circulating on social media regarding the ban on TikTokers’ entry to parks.

Punjab chief minister’s focal person for digital media – Azhar Mashwani – took to his Twitter account and rejected the fake news widely shared across social media. He said that the government hasn’t taken any such decision. Azhar Mashwani added that currently TikTok is banned in Pakistan.

A Geo news report claimed that YouTubers and TikTokers will not be allowed to make videos at the parks. It further claimed that the Punjab government is also mulling over banning entry without family.

Furthermore, the Punjab Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General (DG) Jawad Ahmad Qureshi also denied the media reports. He clarified that no notification to ban YouTubers and TikTokers has been issued.

Jawad Ahmed Qureshi stated that the government is considering declaring one day of the week as “family day”. Only families will be allowed to visit parks on family day.

It may be recalled that following the Minar-e-Pakistan incident, these reports had emerged. The authorities initiated a crackdown against all the suspects, arresting more than a hundred of them.
