KP’s Tribal Areas Granted Additional Seats in Government Medical And Dental Colleges
All medical colleges in KPK will allot seats following the guidelines and merit.
The federal cabinet has approved additional seats for medical and dental colleges of the merged tribal districts. Now, with the approval of the provincial government, PMDC has decided to increase the number of seats.
Reserved Seats For Tribal Districts:
Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar, with the guidelines provided by Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) and the Government, has doubled the reserved seats. The seats are reserved for students from tribal districts, and the university has also initiated placement schedules for the additional positions in the session 2019-2020.
The seats will be allotted based on merit at MU’s Multipurpose Hall on January the 21st, 2020.
KMU Directorate of Admissions reported that the Federal cabinet had decided to double the seats for medical students from tribal districts across the country in 2017. However, the Government and Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) only recently gave their approval.
Seats In Punjab:
In Punjab, the reserved seats increased from 17 to 34 for FATA students. The respective colleges include Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar khan, Sargodha Medical College, Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujarat, Sahiwal Medical College, Gujranwala Medical College, DG Khan Medical, Khawaja Mohammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot and D Montmorency College of Lahore.
In Kashmir, the reserved seats have been increased to six and eight in Sindh, respectively. All medical colleges in KPK will allot seats following the guidelines and merit provided by PMC. MC and AMC, however, will create a merit list from each tribal district which has now been merged.
