The newly sworn in federal cabinet has been the hot topic of discussion on social media. Tweets comparing the qualifications of former PTI ministers and the current cabinet members have become very common.

Former minister for information and broadcasting, and former minister for science and technology Fawad Chaudhry took the criticism a little further when he made sexist remarks about Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar.

The PTI leader took to his Twitter account to share an old video of the former Foreign Minister from an interview with Mehdi Hasan. The interview dates back to 2011, when Hina Rabbani Khar was the first woman and youngest Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

About her role in the new cabinet, Fawad Chaudhry tweeted: “When you appoint a low IQ women whose only claim to fame is her Berkin bags and expensive eye shades such blunders ll become a norm, hope ll get rid of this lot sooner than later.”

Chaudhry’s sexist remarks were slammed online by netizens irrespective of their political affiliations. A social media user wrote that she is a PTI supporter and defended Hina Rabbani Khar against Fawad Chaudhry’s sexist remarks.

There were also a few other PTI supporters who defended the PPP politician and asked the former minister to apologise.
