FBR starts confiscation of Benami assets, 6000 canals land ceased from PML-N’s Senator

  • FBR seizes an area of 6000 canals from PML-N Senator Chaudhary Tanveer.
  • Chaudhary Tanveer has been a property dealer in the past.
  • He had registered these properties in the name of his subordinates.
  • Further investigations will take place through court proceedings.

 

It was announced by the government that undeclared assets will be confiscated and also asked the people to get the maximum benefit from the Assets Declaration Scheme. Today was the last day to declare the Benami assets under the said scheme. As per directives from the PM Imran Khan Federal Board of Revenue has started confiscation of undeclared assets, 92 News reported.

FBR has confiscated an area of 6000 canals from PML-N Senator Chaudhary Tanveer. He had registered this Benami property in the name of his servants. Chaudhary Tanveer is the first person to get his properties confiscated by the bureau.  This property has been seized in Rawalpindi.

FBR sends legal notices to servants

FBR has sent legal notices to the servants of Chaudhary Tanveer to inform them about the latest action. The names of servants are Abdul Aziz, Azhar Ali, Mubin Maroof and Raja Shakoor. The notices to Chaudhary Tanveer and to the servants have been dispatched as per the new law of Benami assets.

Further investigations will take place through the court proceedings. 8 different properties were kept by him in the name of his servants and he is being considered as the real owner of all these assets.

More than 95,000 people avail Assets Declaration Scheme

Chairman FBR Syed Shabbar Zaidi told APP that more than 95,000 people got registered their assets with the bureau by availing the scheme. He also added that the scheme provides a golden chance for the people to declare their Benami assets by paying a small percentage in taxes.
