A policeman in Islamabad sexually harassed a female doctor on her way back home after night duty.
The female doctor took to her Instagram post and shared the incident.
She said, “On the 27th of July, I was doing my routine shifts in duty hours. I didn’t take my pills; therefore, the pain started in my kidney. My senior consultant told me to get some rest and arranged a car to go back home.”
“The first thing I was supposed to do was call my own driver to pick me up. After a few minutes, severe pain started again, and I told my senior about my situation and requested him not to inform my family about my condition. He then arranged his car and driver to drop me at my house.”
“On our way back home at 2 am, approximately 2.5 km away from my home, our car stopped working. The driver tried to fix the car’s fault, but nothing worked. He left me alone to get a mechanic nearby; I came out of the car and started waiting for him.”
“After some time, a 40-year-old policeman with his friends stopped his car near me. The policeman came to me and offered his help, but I politely refused. He didn’t go back, and his friend took my picture without my consent.”
“The policeman then harassed me by placing his hand around me. He also groped me for twenty seconds. He went back to his car and took out his pistol. I was terrified and shocked.”
The doctor concluded, “What is happening around us. Where should we girls go and hide as we are not safe in this society.”
