Women in Tech: Female student from Faisalabad invents ‘smart shoes’ for visually-impaired people

Shanza Munir, a female IT student from Government College University Faisalabad has successfully invented ‘smart shoes’ for visually-impaired people. The talented student created the product as part of her university project.
The vision behind the smart shoes is to assist visually-impaired with the use of technology. They will detect hurdles within the 200 cm radius. The shoe will warn the wearer with real-time notification via sound and vibration.
The manufacturing cost of the product is around Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000. However, it can further be reduced if it is produced on a larger scale.
