On Thursday, Cybercrime Circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed that they have arrested a man for blackmailing, harassing and physically abusing a woman for years in Karachi.
As per FIA spokesperson, the Cybercrime circle made two raids on the order of deputy director the FIA Karachi Cybercrime Circle, to catch the criminal, Abdul Razzaq Soomro’s son Ali Akbar Soomro.
Further on, the spokesperson told that the man was guilty of blackmailing, harassment and physical abuse. He was arrested at his shop and a mobile phone was found from his possession. During the initial course of interrogation, Soomro revealed that he owned more than one mobile phone, which was brought to FIA from his house.
In a statement, the woman said that she contacted Soomro at a friend’s birthday party and they became friends. However, he kept asking her to accompany him to a friend’s birthday party at a farmhouse.
The victim told that she ignored his invitation, but despite the rejection, he forced her to attend the party. At the farmhouse, Soomro resorted to physical intimidation and recorded what he did through a digital watch camera.
He called her again a week later, but she refused to go with him. However, he sent her the farmhouse video, after which she was left with no other choice than to go with him again. This then led to numerous visits to the farmhouse, where Soomro kept physically abusing her.
She said that when asked to marry, Soomro would use delaying tactics. But, after four years, he told her that he was already married and even had a daughter. She stopped talking to him, to which he opened fire at her home, broke her car’s window and he even asked her to meet him for two minutes, or else he’d kill her father. When she went to meet him, he beat her, cut her hair, gave her electric shocks and shaved her eyebrows off.
After her complaint, FIA has arrested the suspect and lodged an FIR under Section 20, 21 or 24 of PECA 2016, read with Section 419 of PPC. The man was brought before a court, which granted five days of physical remand of the suspect to FIA investigators.
