[CASE EXPLAINED] What did FIA find Meesha Shafi guilty of?

Here are all the details of the case.

Meesha Shafi and eight others found guilty of running a vilification campaign against Ali Zafar.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) asked a trial court to initiate legal proceedings against the singer Meesha Shafi and eight others on Tuesday. Reports state that the trial is being conducted to investigate their alleged involvement in a vilification campaign against Ali Zafar.

It all started when Meesha Shafi took to social media to allege that the actor and singer Ali Zafar had sexually harassed her more than once.

Ali Zafar VS Meesha Shafi – who is telling the truth?

A few months after Shafi’s statement, in November 2018, Zafar took to FIA Lahore’s cybercrime wing to file a complaint against Meesha Shafi. The male star claimed:

Certain social media accounts are posting threats and defamatory material against me.

Ali Zafar further alleged:

Several fake accounts have been created as part of a smear campaign against me. All these accounts are linked to Meesha Shafi.

The male singer told the FIA:

A Twitter account @nehasaigol1, which posted 3,000 defamatory tweets against my family and me only in one year, was created 50 days before Meesha’s allegations of sexual harassment.

Following Ali Zafar’s complaint, the FIA’s cybercrime wing submitted an interim challan before a special judge court. The challan stated:

Meesha Shafi and eight others nominated in the case of defamatory material have been found guilty as per available oral and documentary evidence.

The court has still not reached a verdict in the Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi sexual harassment case.

It should be noted that the court has still not reached a verdict in the Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi sexual harassment case. However, Meesha Shafi has been found guilty of participating in a vilification campaign against Ali Zafar.
