First-ever child court established by Peshawar High Court in district Mohmand
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has three of six such courts functioning in the country.
Peshawar High Court has established its first-ever children court in district Mohmand.
The court was virtually inaugurated by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice, Waqar Ahmad Seth in Ghalani area.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has three of six such courts functioning in the country. These are located in Abbottabad, Mardan, and Peshawar.

The Executive Director of the Group Development Pakistan, an organization supporting the high court for establishment of children courts, Valerie Khan said that the results of these pilot child courts are positive.
These courts are a comprehensive way to protect children’s rights, in accordance with relevant child protection provisions. The establishment of ‘child courts’ is part of Pakistan’s international legal obligations under the UN Child Rights Convention and the International Covenant on Civil Rights.
