For the first time, Pakistan to export 50,000 tons of building material to the United States

In an exciting new development, Pakistan is all set to export cement to the US for the first time in its history.

According to news sources, DG Khan Cement Company (DGKC), which is one of the of the biggest cement manufacturers in the country, will export products to the United States.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of DGKC, Inayat Ullah Nazi said that the company is currently in process to ship 50,000 tons of building material to the US. At the moment, a US-bound ship is loading cement at Karachi port for delivery to Houston, Texas.

This is great news, as cement sales will add to Pakistan’s exports during a time when the country desperately needs such initiatives. As noted by May of this year, cement sales have contracted 15.85% to 3.32 million tons compared to sales of 3.94 million last year.

Similarly, export patches saw a big decline of 76.97%. The number fell from 746,550 tons in May 2021 to 171,915 during the same time this year. In the first eleven months of the current fiscal year, cement dispatches (domestic and export) were measured to be at 47.62 million tons, which was a decline of 8.8% from last year.
