Pakistani delegation in Israel

Foreign Office (FO) has denied media reports of a Pakistani delegation visiting Israel. In a statement, FO said that the recent visit by a group of Pakistani citizens was organized by a foreign NGO.

The statement added that Pakistan’s policy on the Palestine issue is the same. “Pakistan’s position on the Palestinian issue is clear and unambiguous.”

According to media reports, a Pakistani delegation, including a former minister, held a meeting with officials of Israeli Foreign Ministry. Former minister and Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Naseem Ashraf is leading the delegation.

He confirmed that he is in Israel ”to promote interfaith harmony.” This is the second such trip in the last few months, which has stirred controversy after journalist Ahmed Quraishi visited the country for the same purpose.

In an interview with a foreign news channel, i24NEWS, Ashraf spoke about his Israel trip. “It has been a tremendous experience for all of us, we learned so much,” he told the news channel.

He claimed that the reaction to his visit has been very positive in Pakistan. About the relationship of the two countries in the future, the former minister stated that it will be directly linked to the resolution of conflict between Israel and Palestine.
