Gang, that robbed citizens after stealing ‘fingerprints’ from B-form and voter’s list, caught by FIA

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a gang consisting of 30 members, which ripped off millions from citizens through banks using robbed fingerprints.

FIA has taken all of the 30 suspects into custody and has confiscated over Rs. 25 million of the stolen funds.

As per the details, the criminals would thieve fingerprints from identity cards, B-forms, voters lists, and documents belonging to the union council. It is also said that the staff were complicit.

The robbed fingerprints were then copied onto X-ray films and fake silicone fingerprint membranes were later used for deceitful activities.

FIA officials have registered a case against the gang members and are undertaking a further investigation.

Chaudhary Abdul Rab, the Director Cybercrime Wing has advised citizens to be more cautious with their private data.
