E-police services have been introduced through the 'City Islamabad App'.
Pakistan’s first police app to provide e-services to the people with a single click is finally a reality. To encourage people to report crime and to provide district services to them with a single click, e-police services have been introduced through the ‘City Islamabad App’.
In a press conference last month, the Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr. Sohail Habib Tajik said the alert buttons would be installed to receive citizens’ feedback.
The RPO further added if a person does not get a reply from the police station, an SOS message will be generated as soon as the complainant presses the button.
The police officials at the police stations cannot ignore the complaint, as all the senior officers, including the RPO, will get the message instantly.
Tajik added, “All accessible resources will be consumed on the police force.”

The RPO Rawalpindi said, the crime App has been launched for guaranteeing transparency so that no crime would go unnoticed. People were terrified of visiting police stations to file their complaints, but the App will help them contact the police without any distress.
According to the data revealed by the police department, 24,996 cases were registered from January 1st to December 30th, 2019, as compared to 16,906 cases registered during the same period last year.
The RPO further added his topmost priority is to change public opinion regarding the police force and to gain the trust of the people.
