Australia’s Glenn Maxwell and Michael Neser will not be part of Australia’s historic tour to Pakistan, Cricket Australia has confirmed. The Aussies are scheduled to play three tests, as many one day internationals and a T20 match in Pakistan.

Cricket Australia has announced a full-strength squad for the historic tour. The Australian right-arm pacer Michael Neser has been ruled out of Australia’s tour to Pakistan due to injury.

He got injured during the warm-up before a One-Day Cup game against NSW. According to the medical report, he has suffered a side strain.

“It’s bad luck for Michael and we’re hoping he makes a speedy recovery,” Queensland coach Wade Seccombe said. He has been replaced by Mark Steketee in the squad.

On the other hand, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will also miss his side’s first tour to Pakistan in over two decades. The 33 year old confirmed his unavailability for the series due to his upcoming wedding.

He along with David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Hazlewood, Matthew Wade and Daniel Sams are all likely to miss the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
