‘Good demonstration of grace, maturity & patriotism’: FM Bilawal wins praise for defending Imran Khan
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto is getting widespread praise on social media after he defended the former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Russia during his media talk in New York.
The Pakistan’s youngest foreign minister was interacting with journalists at the UN Headquarters on Thursday. One of the journalists asked him about the former PM’s controversial visit to Moscow, which didn’t sit well with western capitals.
Bilawal Bhutto answered the question with great maturity, winning praise from political pundits and citizens. Bhutto said that he would absolutely defend Imran Khan’s visit to Russia. He added that the former PM made the visit as part of his foreign policy.
“I believe it is very unfair to punish Pakistan for such an innocent action. Of course, Pakistan is absolutely clear as far as it comes to the principles of the UN [United Nations] of non-use of force and we stand by these principles,” he said.

Bilawal’s defence of his political rival was widely praised by political commentators. Financial expert Yousuf Nazar wrote that it was a “good demonstration of grace, maturity and patriotism.”
