  • In the year, 2019-2020 more than Rs12 billion has been granted to the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for research and food security.
  • For the promotion of the olive cultivation government of Pakistan has allocated Rs80 million.

During the ongoing fiscal year, the federal government has allocated development funds of Rs334.6 million for 21 food security projects. Some of the security projects are trout cage farming, promotion of olive oil production and prevention and cure of cattle diseases.

In the year, 2019-2020 more than Rs12 billion has been granted to the Public Sector          Development Program (PSDP) for research and food security. Although, funds are only released for 21 projects out of 40. Aim to utilize all the funds this year is slightly difficult to achieve.

By the end of August 2019 Planning Commission of Pakistan issued a statement that for the promotion of the olive cultivation government of Pakistan has allocated Rs80 million. On the commercial scale, this budget was allocated against the total allocation of Rs400 million for the year 2019-2020.

There is also a possibility that a big portion of funds would fail due to slow release. This will delay the use of funds for food security and research on time.
