Government employees given deadline to declare assets by Sept 1

The government makes it mandatory for employees to declared assets by Sept. 1.
The government has sent out orders to all federal ministries and institutions of all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The employees need to hand over details of their assets acquired by them during the fiscal year that ended June 30.
The government of Pakistan has made it mandatory for all government employees to declare their assets by Sept 1. In this regard, the federal government has sent orders to all federal ministries and institutions of all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In another memorandum, the government has also notified 15 percent ad hoc relief allowance (ARA) to the officers in management grades. Another 5-10pc ARA benefit has also been to selective corporations and autonomous bodies.
The Establishment Division has also sent out special directives to the secretaries of all federal ministries and divisions, chief secretaries of the four provinces, AJK and GB, the National Accountability Bureau chairman, Wafaqi Mohtasib, federal tax ombudsman, the Election Commission of Pakistan, Intelligence Bureau and Auditor General of Pakistan to declare their assets and also get declaration from people working under them.
The ‘certificate to the effect’:
Along with the administrative instructions, Rule 12 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964, makes it mandatory to declare their assets and liabilities. The administrative heads of the ministries are then also required to submit a ‘certificate to the effect’ assuring that they have received information from all the related people working in the department.
The Establishment Division is mandated to keep the record of declarations of assets of officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Secretariat Group and Office Management Group.
The declarations of assets of all other service groups, including Foreign Service and Judicial Service, are maintained by their respective ministries, divisions, and departments.
