Government imposes ban on CNG kits in school vans in Bara to assure safety

Use Of CNG Kits In The Vehicles Carrying Students Will Not Be Allowed

The Government following directives from Peshawar High Court imposed a ban on the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kits in school vans in Bara subdivision of Khyber tribal district. The ban includes all public and private school vehicles in the region.

Notice Issued:

A notice was issued to all private schools on Friday from the office of Assistant Commissioner. The action was taken referring to the Peshawar High Court order of November the 28th, 2019.  The notice warned all educational institutes to take strict action immediately.

Disciplinary action will be taken against institutions that failed to comply with the orders.

Parents Welcome The Ban:

Parents have welcomed the ban over CNG kits as the action was taken after numerous public complaints.  Many have lost lives leading to incidents of CNG cylinder blasts, which have become a regular occurrence in the city.

The Public demands that authorities must make sure that the ban is implemented and take action against those refusing to change.

On the other hand, transporters argue that the ban will increase the cost of running their vehicles and they will have to raise fares.
