Government plans to launch online portal for tax payment on phones

To make the process convenient and hassle-free, Government of Pakistan plans to launch an online portal for registration and tax payment on phones. Now the passengers who are bringing more than one phones with them will not have to wait in long queues to get their phones registered at the airport or the Customs office.

Phone owners will soon enjoy the convenience of registering their devices with only a few clicks. According to reports and available information, the Ministry of Information Technology (IT), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the members from Customs have informed the Senate Standing Committee on IT and Telecom plan to launch a dedicated portal for this, which will certainly ease the process for passengers soon. Without dealing with the airport staff or Customs officials, the phones will be registered within the 15 days of their arrival.
