Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in its continuous efforts against grey traffic, has initiated the registration of Virtual Private Networks (VPN).

In this regard, the PTA has issued a public notice, which says, “Use of any mode of communication which becomes hidden or encrypted is a violation of PTA regularities.”

The notice further said, “Users who are required to use a VPN for legitimate purposes, must register their VPN with the PTA through their respective Internet service provider till the 30th of June 2020.

As per law, besides interruption of Services, legal action may also be initiated against the offenders involved in the illegal use of unregistered VPNs.”
