Government of Pakistan is making efforts to remodel PIA: PM Imran Khan
Advanced technologies need to be introduced to witness a considerable amount of profit.
Revenues generated by PIA in the first six months of 2019 has increased up to 30pc.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of Federal Cabinet at PM office and said that the government of Pakistan is working extremely hard to remodel PIA and make it a well-organized and productive organization as it was in the past. The national carrier is the country’s identity overseas.
PM Khan, while addressing the meeting said, PIA once was a profit-generating airline but the negligence and mismanagement in the past pushed the leading sector into trouble, said the PM Media Office Wing in a press release.
The meeting was attended by the Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar, Adviser on Finance Hafeez Shaikh, Secretary Aviation Division Shah Rukh Nusrat, Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran, PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arshad Malik, representatives of airplane manufacturing companies and senior officials.
The CEO of PIA informed Prime Minister Imran khan that because of the persistent efforts of PIA’s present management, the losses of airlines are continuously reducing. He also added, in the next two decades Pakistan is going to increase more than two-folds because of the country’s potential for enough air transport.
Prime Minister was also informed after introducing advanced technologies; PIA will witness a profit and give a boost to the business and tourism in the country.
PM was also informed that the increase in population and a moderate increase in the economy are the main factors in the assistance and development of the aviation industry.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was also briefed about the latest technologies and models of airplanes.
Revenues generated by PIA:
The Aviation Division report said revenues generated in the first six months of 2019 of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased up to 30pc. PIA airline plays a vital role by bringing two grounded aircraft into the function, annually revenues of Rs6 Billion are expected to be added.
