Govt Starts Rs2,000 Payment To BISP Beneficiaries, Here's How To Receive

The government of Pakistan has approved payment of Rs2,000 to the existing 8 million beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). This has been done following the rising prices of petroleum products in the country.

The payments will go through under the Sasta Petrol/Diesel Scheme of the government, which is being provided under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

How to avail

After receiving the message of payment from BISP, the families registered at Benazir Kafalat Program belonging to Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab, may receive their payments from biometric ATMs of Habib Bank. Similarly, those in KP, Gilgit- Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir can receive the payment from Bank Alfalah.

Those who are not registered with the program and have applied to the scheme by texting 786 have to wait for the message of payment and eligibility.

The federal cabinet approved a relief package of RS28 billion to counter the growing prices of prices for poor people. The package covers 14 million families, which is 30% of the total population.

The program is now in the execution phase through payments of RS2000 to the eight million beneficiaries of the Benazir Kafalat Program. However, six million more people are being identified through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER). People that have a monthly income of less than Rs40,000 can apply for the scheme
