LATEST: Gwadar officially receives fiber optic connectivity
The commercial route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) lies within Gwadar and western China.
In an announcement, the Executive Vice President of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Abdul Zahir Achakzai has implied that Gwadar has received a new fiber optic cable.
This cable has been laid out to augment tech facilities in the region.
The declaration was made during a meeting at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). At the meeting, Abdul Zahir spoke of the significance of advanced communication infrastructure facilities within industrial zones such as Gwadar. He further said that the company aims to better internet connectivity in the area by taking several measures.
The President of KATI, Saleemuz Zaman expressed at the event how an efficient and speedy internet connection has become almost imperative for the current age of business growth and industrialization. He also pointed out how the PTCL has improved its service, and how he hoped that it would continue to try and reach the quality of modern times.
Zaman also highlighted how KATI’S members and their facilitation is greatly prioritized by the organization. He reinforced the need for coordination between the internet providers in the area and the Korangi Industrial and Trading Estate Development and Management Company (KITE-DMC) for the smooth operation of future infrastructure projects.
The commercial route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) lies within Gwadar and western China. The corridor requires accelerated internet connectivity for its large-scale operations to run efficiently.
Similarly, a cross-border fiber optic project was also previously approved. This project would establish a path for connectivity between Pakistan’s Northern border and China and enable constant connectivity between Pakistan’s Northern and Southern borders.
