Haroon reveals the text message Junaid Jamshed sent him from Mecca before his death
Bringing back memories of the good old time, former pop-band Awaz's lead vocalist, Haroon, shared a throwback picture of himself, Ali Azmat and late Junaid Jamshed.
People in the 90s had the privilege to listen to the best pop-music ever made in the country. Bands such as Awaaz, Junoon and Vital Signs absolutely ruled the 90s decade.
Bringing back memories of the good old times, former pop-band Awaz’s lead vocalist, Haroon, shared a throwback picture of himself, Ali Azmat and the late Junaid Jamshed.
Haroon revealed that Junaid Jamshed had sent him a text message from Mecca weeks before his sad demise.
“He sent me a beautiful text from Mecca saying he prayed for me weeks before he tragically died in the plane crash,” Haroon revealed.
Recalling his time with Junaid Jamshed, he said, ““The late-great Junaid Jamshed and I toured the whole world together including performing concerts all over Pakistan in the remotest of cities.”
He went on to add that even after bidding farewell to singing, Junaid Jamshed would still visit him in his studio.
“We launched an album together and spent hours and hours talking on flights and cars and tour buses – becoming very close. Junaid would still come and visit me in my studio after he had quit music.”
He also revealed that both Junaid Jamshed and Ali Azmat were really good friends.
“Not many know this but both Ali Azmat and Junaid Jamshed are/were good friends. I’ve known Ali Azmat since his Jupiter days. He and I were even flat mates for a while in Karachi back in the day,” he added.
Haroon credited all the members of vitals signs including Junaid Jamshed, Rohail Hyatt and Shahi Hasan for the early success of his band.
