This is a case of RSS's hate crime against Christians in India as they strip, beat nuns, destroy Catholic school in India in Tamil Nadu.
The mob consisted of members of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), an ultra-nationalist Hindu paramilitary group. The school’s chapel was turned upside down, the statue of Virgin Mary was beheaded and toppled and the altar was also savaged with a pickaxe.
The activists smashed desks, windows, wrecked-havoc in the auditorium and four nuns and two school staff members were injured and hospitalized after the attack. No part of the school was spared.

As per a recent report, hate crimes and violence against Christians has jumped 57% in India during the first two months of 2019 as compared to the first two months in 2018.
During the months of January and February, 77 incidents of targeted violence against Christians were reported in India, meanwhile last year 49 cases were reported during the same period, as per Religious Liberty Commission of the Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI).
According to Sister Mary Asir, provincial superior of Franciscan Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary, who runs the now wrecked Little Flower Higher Secondary School in Chinnasalem, the damage inflicted is pre-planned and organized.
“It is evident that the violence unleashed against the school and the destruction inflicted was premeditated and organized.” – she stated.
Sister Mary also said that the criminals wanted to hit the nuns. She stated that 74 years ago the institute was found to provide education facilities to poor families. At the moment, 2,150 students are studying in the school, 117 of which belong to villages and underprivileged families.
The reason for the mob attack was the recent suicide of Poongulazhi, aged 15 and a student of the school’s 10th grade. However, as per some observers, the nationalists were just looking for an excuse to strike the Catholic school.
The damage made by the attack amounts to 130,000 euros, as per estimates. The police have taken no action until yet despite the school being near to the local police station.
The Council of Tamil Nadu bishops has castigated the attack and appealed to the government to launch an investigation immediately, take action against the criminals and protect the sisters and school.
“It is really painful and shocking that after carrying out murderous attacks on persons and causing deliberate destruction to the properties, the gangsters came along with the police to demand enhanced compensation which is not justifiable. It is a very cruel act which expresses their violent mindset,” – Sr. Asir said.
