HEC announces scholarships for FATA/Balochistan: HOW and WHERE to apply

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced scholarships for students belonging to ex-FATA and Balochistan for the 2020-21 session. The scholarships will be offered to students for their undergraduate degrees.

The HEC will facilitate the higher education of the students belonging to the under-developed tribal districts. They can apply for financial assistance for any discipline/subject of their choice.

The age requirement for the scholarships is under 22 years and the deadline for submitting applications is October the 2nd, 2020.

What will the scholarships cover?

The scholarship will cover the following expenses:

  • Hostel charges and other charges up to Rs.60,000 per semester
  • Tuition fee
  • Monthly allowance of Rs.6000 with Rs.500 annual increment
  • Book allowance of Rs.5,000 per anum
  • One-time initial settlement allowance of Rs.10,000
  • Travel allowance Rs. 5,000 per anum.

Eligibility criteria

You need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • The maximum age limit of 22 years
  • Should not be the recipient of scholarships in the past
  • Must have 60% marks
  • Must have passed FA/FSC/ICOM/DAE or equivalent
  • Must have a domicile of FATA/Balochistan.

How to apply?

To apply for the scholarship, you must submit an online application on the official HEC online portal.

If the application is submitted in hardcopy, it will not be accepted. The applicants are also required to deposit a fee of Rs.500 (non-refundable) as application fee in HBL bank.

NOTE: HEC has full authority to cancel or postpone the scholarship process without assigning any reason and at any stage.
