HEC gives urgent degree attestation facility

Due to the ongoing financial crisis and the department being unable to meet the required amount to keep the offices running, Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced a new policy. With the introduction of the new service, you will now have to pay an amount of Rs 5000 for urgent degree verification.
With the new policy, HEC has set the target to earn Rs 500,000 per day. The educational authority is expected to generate added revenue of Rs150 million on an annual basis.
As the sources report, with the implementation of urgent fees, special slots have also been approved in the regional offices and the main office. To reach the set target of Rs 500,000, 45 slots in the headquarters, 20 slots in Lahore’s regional office, 15 slots in Karachi while 10 slots each for regional offices of Quetta and Peshawar have been approved.
The added fee is beside the normal fee of Rs 800:
The additional fee is beside the regular fee of Rs 800. Additionally, HEC also charges Rs 500 for photocopy verification. Before this, the candidates were entertained without any additional charges if they showed the date of interview or letter from asking for the degree from any institute. But now, the fee of Rs 5000 will be charged.
”The following procedure has been initiated to curb nepotism and facilitate the needy ones”, says Director General Attestation and Equivalence Tahir Zaidi.
The candidates can set their appointments on the priorty basis, starting today. For urgent attestation, visit and register at HEC’s online portal. The attestation booths will be available at the aforementioned offices for five days a week, Monday to Friday.
